asafa-powell-wins-london-grand-prix.jpegWith the Olympic Games just two weeks away, Trinidad and Tobago's best hope for a medal now lies with Marc Burns and the 4x100 men's relay team.

Burns ascension to T&T's #1 sprinter was confirmed in London, today when he ran a year's best time of 9.97 to finish second to Jamaica's Asafa Powell in the 100 metres Final at the Aviva London Grand Prix.

Powell surged ahead in the final 10 metres in a time of 9.94 to comfortably hold off a fast surging Marc Burns.

Trinidad and Tobago's Richard Thompson, who earlier this week singed a contract with Nike Sports; finished fourth in 10.01.
Add the inconsistent Darrel Brown to the mix and T&T has three sub-10 runners to form a powerful relay unit.

But the question some are left to ask is, why has Burns never tried the 200m.
We'll never know.
